Our Managing Director, Stephen Bleakley, recently returned from the US where he met with several of our valued clients to discuss project updates and future collaborations.
First stop – New York
The first stop was New York where Stephen met with our client after SBM managed the disposal of a freehold UK facility in Chessington. The property has now been sold.
You might be wondering why we’d travel all the way to the US to meet our clients especially in a world where technology makes virtual meetings so easy? It is because we believe that the best partnerships are built face-to-face. It helps us understand our client’s business and what drives them on a deeper level.

Stephen visited New York and noted the remarkable change in pace and confidence. The city felt more vibrant and dynamic than ever. The new JP Morgan headquarters, rising over the skyline, exemplifies the raw power of New York and the strength of and confidence in its financial institutions.
Next stop was Philadelphia to meet another client for a project update briefing, regarding one of our current projects in Sydney, where we are coordinating the disposal of a 300,000 sq ft temperature-controlled logistics facility.
This trip to the US made one thing clear: our role goes beyond project delivery. As property experts, we play a crucial role in bridging the knowledge gap between our clients and the complex opportunities and challenges of these projects than span the globe.
