The UK officially joined the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP)
in December 2024 and it is expected that over 99% of current UK goods exports to CPTPP members will be eligible for tariff-free trade.
This makes the UK one of only two countries in the world with a free trade agreement with both the EU and the CPTPP – accounting for 30% of world GDP – which is an opportunity for the taking.
